There was a company in the legions during the great crusade that used ammo like that... I forget what they're called tho. Devastators are coming to mind but I know its not them

The radiation from DU is kind of not the point, it's just a side effect. They use it because it's more dense than steel or lead while also having favorable fracturing qualities. Mostly anti-materiel.

So… on the topic of depleted uranium discarding sabo… it’s very much I use by the US military for tank ammunitions… it’s very good at destroying tanks :_aiaAIADMIRER:

Genghis Khan would catapult plague ridden bodies over fortress walls for a similar effect

I *think* another tactic back then was to catapult dead animals, likely large ones like cows, into strongholds to spread disease inside.

Not too informed so I couldn't tell you. But watching someone shoot "Dragons breath" shotgun shells is really cool

"incindary rounds" kind of aren't real. Tracer rounds are intended so you can see firing arcs in the dark, and anything else loaded with phosphorus is generally more for specacle than practicality

Or HEAT (High explosive Anti-Tank) with use a chemical reaction to literally melt the tank armor

the coolest for me is HEAT which uses a superheated copper jet to melt through armor via a conical explosion:_aiaAIADMIRER:

AP rounds are hard, dense materials that are shaped to create points of very high pressure to punch through armor. Incendiary use a chemical that oxidizes rapidly with friction with air at high speed.
