no
他52
2:37:23
no, you just have to lock in. i frame abuse with rings
他45
2:37:23
This act is a fair amount of my memory of Sonic 1. Took me many tries as a kid
他65
2:37:27
just have to survive the gauntlet of pokey things and fireballs here
8
2:37:32
no the level is just that bad
他67
2:37:38
I've found that the water doesn't really make it easier so it's a failcon for me
他4
2:38:10
Did hitting Eggman do anything at the end?
他28
2:38:13
the water slows you down, which makes your timing window small and difficult
他11
2:38:14
:face-green-smiling:
他63
2:38:17
To be fair that part is muscle memory so it's not a hard part to speed run
他4
2:38:19
TAS speedrun on this game must be insane
他80
2:38:21
Oh were still here
他8
2:38:22
Be fats like sonic
他82
2:38:23
even as a kid when I was absolutely good at games I feel I would still rage quit this game
他10
2:38:25
I think any5 is mostly glitch abuse, but I may be misremembering the sequels
他4
2:38:25
once you memorize it it's not actually hard. it's learning the layout that's hard
他45
2:38:26
fwiw this is easily the hardest part of the game to me
他8
2:38:32
It's not even the fun kind of hard too, just the kind of hard that doesn't even feel rewarding
他56
2:38:32
be good
他30
2:38:39
Speed runs are usually challenged by parts with random factors
他4
2:38:41
the stages are just not well optimized
他10
2:38:48
When Nova goes to therapy she’s going to be muttering “It was supposed to be fun but wasn’t fun”
他31
2:38:48
TAS of this does glitches called "zips" to skip most levels entirely
他45
2:38:52
speedrunners count invisible pixels to be ultra-precise. it's kinda absurd
他8
2:39:12
This is one of those levels where there's just no fun to be had.
他10
2:39:16
why does it keep sounding like a cat purring when a door opens
他6
2:39:19
dying = restart
他34
2:39:46
Hi Nova! Hope your day has gone well. Sorry I haven't been here, life's been busy! :eye:
他4
2:39:52
he'll bleed rings soon
18
2:40:07
To be fair, you could get continues from the specials stages
他2
2:40:07
And the only way to get continues is from special stages, which gets worse and worse to even unlock as the game goes on
他56
2:40:22
sonic 2 is much easier imo, at least until the very end
他45
2:40:23
true
他50
2:40:31
Pretty sure you got a code after a stage back in the day so you could skip parts you already did
他28
2:40:35
Yeah.
他100
2:40:41
up to metropolis. no difficulty spikes like sonic 1
他45
2:40:42
LOL
他80
2:40:45
The news to drama pipeline is strong though
他4
2:40:47
lol
