basically you take apart the things that make normal numbers work, and then examine why they work that way by putting them back together differently, and then you do it again until nothing makes sense

My grandfather always used to have me solve like 100 math questions for Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division, and if I got even just one mistake he would make me do it all over again
