A belt of iron, and a belt of gears and green circuits, most basic machines use just those 3 ingredients, so you can have rows of assemblers on either side with basic and long handed inserters.

you have a splitter split on 2 laines and those split into 4 lines you do that for every Line you need so copper iron plastic and you only build on the top side so you can expand the bus

The core of a main bus is to have the main belts supplying materials going in one direction, then split off and doing machines making things perpendicular to that

Busses are pretty noob traps. you resource requires are like 1 belt of iron and half a belt of copper, then 4 iron and 2 copper for blue science, than 8 iron and 8 copper for the rest of the game.
